From Rain to Sunshine – A Perfect Wedding Day

When Wendy’s mom, a dear friend of ours from Southern California, asked me during a site visit a year ago if with all the wonderful things The Perry House had to offer, would we also guarantee sunshine for her daughter’s August wedding; well, the only answer I could give to that was, “Of course!” Well, as you can imagine, when on this particular August morning clouds were looming and sprinkles were evolving into real drops of rain, my heart and stomach were dropping too. But Wendy and Mike were so in love and so ready to be married and be “merry,” that their spirits were not clouded over even a bit, and with a few strong prayers and a couple of great rain chants by the bride and her bridesmaids, the day progressively became a beautiful omen to their love as the rain stopped just as they were sharing their personalized vows and the sky began to open up dispersing the clouds and leaving a warm ray of beautiful sunshine on the rest of the day. We even had guests tell us that the initial rain just added another special layer to the wonderful day they were having sharing in this couple’s happiness. And to that I said, “Of course!”
