Our amazing blend of professionals begins with the owners, Debbie & Dean Young and Cheryl & Jim Cox, who as a group, possess a grand vision for their company and promote an atmosphere of warmth and excellence both for their staff and clients. Together with an enthusiastic and talented crew of sales staff, event managers, event captains, chefs, servers and bartenders, the Events by Classic Group is excited and ready to take care of you and your guests for your special occasion or corporate event!

MEET SOME OF THE TEAM:

Deb Dean Photo

Dean & Debbie Young, Co-Owners, having 50 years (yes, combined!) in restaurants and catering, are a powerful husband & wife team dedicated to their clients. They have gained the respect of fellow professionals in the area by maintaining integrity and enthusiasm for the catering and venue business. While their roles are many, Dean's main focus is as Executive Chef, and Debbie works as the Director of Event Management.

jim cheryl

Jim & Cheryl Cox, Co-owners, came on board in 2006 when Events by Classic purchased and restored its first venue -- Gatherings. Jim and Cheryl are diligent in their pursuit of making things better! Jim is the General Manager for Events by Classic and oversees the preservation of both historic venues. Cheryl is Director of Finance and Marketing.

Richard Wood

Richard Wood, Event Manager. Working in hospitality most of his life, Richard learned he had a passion and desire for helping brides with their special days while working at a 5-star resort in Napa Valley. That desire brought him to the Monterey Peninsula where he became a certified wedding planner and is now overjoyed to be working with the team at Events by Classic.

Hana N

Hana Nishiguchi, Event Manager. Hana has worked as a Professional Design Consultant for over 10 years. While designing her first wedding, she fell in love with events and decided to pursue event planning full time. Having working for several hotels as an event coordinator, then as a sales manager, Hana is committed to providing excellent customer service for her individual and corporate clients. Thrilled to be a part of a team that embodies high standards for cuisine and service, Hana is inspired and motivated by her colleagues and clients every day.

Erin Wareham, Event Manager. After graduating with a major in Communications and Media Studies from Rollins College in Florida, Erin worked two years for the Inn at Spanish Bay participating in esteemed Pebble Beach events such as the AT&T, Concours d'Elegance, Pebble Beach Food & Wine and the Nature Valley First Tee Open. After being trained by this highly respected company in the hospitality industry, we snatched her up :), and she says she feels lucky every day to be working with the Events by Classic Group. Erin looks forward to helping her clients in any way she can to make every event play out flawlessly.

Isabel

Isabel Solis, Event Staff Manager and Head Captain. Isabel keeps herself very busy between scheduling and training the team members and organizing each event from start to finish. She's always ready to help with anything the company needs her to do, and has a great gift for painting signs for our events. A special thanks to Isabel for keeping the staff well trained and informed, and for going "above and beyond" for all our guests!

Enrique

Enrique Javier, Head Chef, is an amazing chef -- a true professional. In his past life, he ran the kitchen for the acclaimed Mission Ranch and Crème Carmel. Just a few of Chef Enrique's talents include his sensational sauces & sautés and expert technique and leadership. Enrique is a passionate Chef that takes pride in each and every dish that comes out of his kitchen.

nilton

Nilton Juarez, Sous Chef. Nilton is one of those “1 in a thousand," and we pinch ourselves that we are fortunate enough to have him as part of our team. Immensely skilled in many arenas, Nilton is just as at home being in charge of the kitchen as he is at using his incredible talents as a builder. He also helps Jim keep our venues in tip top shape, and even builds props as needed -- and what about that smile; he's always smiling!
